No matter our age, the beginning of summer is always marked by the timeless feeling of the last day of school. To kick off this year’s Summer Cinema Series, join us for Richard Linklater’s “Dazed and Confused”. Set in 1976 on the last day of school, the first day of summer vacation, and an epic party, we strive to emulate all things psychedelic and chill with our 8pm screening of this cult classic.
With early performances by Milla Jovovich, Adam Goldberg, Ben Affleck, Parker Posey, and Matthew McConaughey the film’s real break out star is perhaps the most quoted tag line in 2014 “Alright, alright, alright”.
A good cult classic can be many things; a break out star performance, a box office sleeper with a new found life on TV, a die hard fan base, or in many cases some great one-liners. For our JUNE 19th SCREENING of DAZED AND CONFUSED we’ve selected some of our favorite lines from the hilarious, and remarkably honest Richard Linklater screenplay. To play homage and have a little fun, we’ve decided to do a REVERSE CAPTION CONTEST!
Steps are as follows:
1) Pick a quote below
2) Create a photo/image
3) Post to our Facebook or Tweet (@tribecacinemas) to enter.
Get creative- the top three entries will receive FREE ENTRY FOR TWO to the screening! We’ll be announcing the winners on Wednesday June 18th.
Quotes to choose from:
1. Wooderson: That’s what I love about these high school girls, man. I get older, they stay the same age.
2. Tony: Nothing like piling on old pancakes and syrup after a night of beer drinking.
3. Simone: I did it when I was a freshman, and you’ll do it when you’re seniors. But you’re doing great. Now fry like bacon, you little freshman piggies. Fry!
