“Laughter is the best medicine.”
On March 21st, Tribeca Cinemas pays tribute to someone who has made so many laugh over the years, the late Harold Ramis. Writer/Director of comedy classics Caddyshack, Groundhog Day, and National Lampoon’s Vacation, Ramis left an indelible stamp on the cinema with his marvelous writing and razor sharp comic timing.
This month we celebrate his amazing body of work and crack-up screen presence by screening the always amazing Ghostbusters, which he co-wrote and also appears in. Come pay tribute in the neighborhood that’s home to Ladder 8, the Ghostbusters firehouse, before an hour open bar at The Varick Room and an 8pm screening of the film. Co-starring an 80′s comedy dream team of Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver, and Rick Moranis, Ramis’ Ghostbusters hunt, trap, and wise-crack their way through vanquishing New York City of paranormal activity.
