In the wake of the sweeping US critical success of Cristi Puiu's The Death of Mr. Lazarescu, the festival aims to introduce to the American audience other new voices of the Romanian cinema. This new wave of young directors, who have enjoyed overwhelming success at major festivals all over the world, may well be the long-expected revolution in post-1989 Romanian cinema."

An initiative of the Romanian Cultural Institute in cooperation with TIFF - Transilvania International Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, and the National Center of Cinema, Bucharest.

 

All screenings in Romanian with English subtitles, and followed by Q&A with film directors and invited film critics.
