This year, the Hamptons International Film Festival is pleased to present a special program with the World Cinema Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and restoration of neglected films from around the world – in particular, those countries lacking the financial and technical ability to do so. Founded by Martin Scorsese, the foundation helps support and encourage preservation efforts to save worldwide film patrimony and ensure that these films are preserved, seen and shared. The World Cinema Foundation will present a special screening of Fred Zinnemann and
Emlio Gomez Muriel's REDES (1936) at the festival this year. WCF Executive Director Kent Jones will also present a screening of Stig Bjorkman’s IMAGES FROM THE PLAYGROUND, a collection of rare behind-the-scenes footage and audio diaries from Ingmar Bergman. The program will screen on Sunday, October 11th at 12pm in East Hampton's Guild Hall.
