Program Notes

"Our art-making process is concerned with a collaborative, mutual response to nature at its most primitive and wild." -Olly & Suzi.

Olly, a hefty man with a keen sense of humor and a lust for the outdoors, teams up with Suzi, a beautiful, petite woman once a rising star in the art world, in the pursuit of an extreme and authentic artistic creation. From the ice caps to the African bush, their drawings of polar bears, sharks and other wild predators are produced in nature. They create under the most extreme conditions, facing their wild subjects and channeling the clarity of that moment onto the paper in front of them.  With stunning footage of their exotic travels, director Rupert Murray offers a privileged view into the lives, adventures and creative processes of two remarkable artists.

Expected to be in attendance:  Producer Meg Thomson (Thursday screening)
